IT’S VALENTINE’S DAY… NO ROOM FOR BITTERNESS

So it’s here, the holiday of love, passion, appreciation, gifts and kisses. Despite the chilly weather, Valentine’s Day brings warmth in everyone heart. It is the one season when indulging in chocolate, candy, wine and cake is accepted by the masses. All your vices can live through this day. I believe that Valentine’s Day has had the overpowering idea that only couples can celebrate this day of love. Often, people who do not have a special someone feel left out… and why should they? Everyone deserves hugs and kisses. The feeling of loneliness can bring ones spirit down; my answer is to find a solution. I want to change the ideology that Valentine’s Day is only for people worthy of love; Valentine’s Day should be for everybody. Here are a few ideas for EVERYONE who wishes to celebrate Valentine’s Day. With a bit of imagination and creativity, your Valentine’s Day can be a great success.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX

Yes… this requires everyone to get out of their comfort zone and think creatively. If you are treating someone to a date, take that person somewhere unconventional and different. Experience something different with the person you love. If you have family, make a themed lunch or dinner. Get some bright cardboard and cut out some hearts and display them all over the house. Make sure your idea is unique and fresh; Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be serious, have fun with it.

MAKE SOMETHING

Get your arts and craft tools and create Valentine’s to give to your family, coworkers, lovers and friends. Why not keep the grade school tradition and pass out cute/corny Valentine’s to the people you appreciate. This is guaranteed to make everyone smile. If you can’t think of anything to create, the internet is sure to have thousands of ideas as to what you can do step by step. You can also bake something and decorate it with Valentine candy and bright icing. Making something by hand always adds that extra touch… so let your imagination run wild.

DON’T FORCE IT

If you do not have a date or someone to share your Valentine’s Day with… don’t force it. Find someone that you enjoy spending time with and go for desert. You don’t have to be in love to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Catch up with an old friend or keep it simple with someone you love. Either way, find someone you actually like spending time with. If you don’t want to be alone on this special day, just find friends who are on the same boat as you and make a night out of it.

So with this being said, you can see that Valentine’s Day is truly for everyone. With a bit of imagination, creativity and positivity, Valentine’s Day can be a great hit for everyone, single, married, dating… it doesn’t matter.
