Limo joy for school-leavers

They were expecting to get a dictionary to take up to high school as a leaving gift from primary school. But as they left their leavers’ assembly, a fleet of stretch limos and Hummers was waiting to whisk them off in style for a slap-up celebration. NORTH Somerset residents are being urged to check the credentials of limousine companies before hiring vehicles for an event. The call comes after a recent operation which found that three out of five vehicles stopped were not licensed. - Mercury

It’s a good idea, especially if you’re spending over $500 on your limousine company. Always check for licenses. Drivers should have them as well as the main office of the company. Look for the license number and year it was licensed. Ethnical company will gladly show you all the documents.

Bombardier still interested in TTC contract

Bombardier still wants a piece of the action. $1.25 billion, who wouldn’t? Even Bombardier exec said: “it’s a major piece of business.” So who’s getting all the cookies from Toronto?

National post reported TTC refused to go with Bombardier streetcars. TTC is now looking for another company to supply the streetcars.

Just for Laughs salutes Ernie Butler tonight at Club Soda. And well the festival should. Butler, who passed away last August, put Montreal on the comedy map almost 30 years ago, when there was no Just for Laughs festival here. When there was no nightly comedy here at all.
